The possibility of contributing so that people can feel their best is something that has always fascinated me.

Hailing from Venezuela, my experience as a physiotherapist spans over 13 years, during which my commitment to helping a person overcome health challenges has grown resolute.

Driven by the need to always give the best to my patients, I pursued an MS.c in Human Kinetics specializing in Biomechanics at the University of Ottawa. I have also completed studies in Global Postural Reeducation, Neuro-musculoskeletal Manual Therapy, Myofascial Induction, Craniosacral Therapy, and Functional Dry Needling, among others.

Musicians’ health has been of interest to me since the beginning of my studies, and in 2018, I had the joy of participating in the creation of the Musician’s Wellness Center at the University of Ottawa.

I’m passionate about physiotherapy and I’m always looking to provide an optimal service to my patients tailored to their needs.

While attending York University and working towards her Kinesiology degree, Tanya began working as a Certified Personal Trainer. Tanya recognized that many of the clients had a variety of postural dysfunctions and overuse syndromes that needed to be overcome in order to achieve their goals. Her philosophy is to help clients reach their health and fitness needs safely while building a strong foundation.

Tanya wanted to further her education in the treatment and assessment of soft tissue. She attended the International Academy of Massage and graduated with top honours. In addition to learning traditional Swedish Massage, which increases circulation and tissue health in a relaxing environment, she was educated in clinical assessment and advanced techniques for the treatment of soft tissue injury and dysfunction.

Jaishica (Jess) was born and raised in England where she received her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 2005. After working in several hospital settings, she pursued a longstanding interest in Pilates and became a Pilates Instructor in London (UK). To further her skillset, Jess pursued further interest in acupuncture, and completed her Traditional Chinese Method acupuncture training in 2008. Her teaching experience took her to the Northeast of England where she continued to practice private Physiotherapy and teach Pilates.

In 2009 Jess moved to Canada and became interested in Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Recognizing the value of specialized hands on therapy toward optimal patient care, she has completed Level 3 in Manual Therapy training to date. Jess has completed further training in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy and is keen to help those experiencing issues of the pelvic floor to optimize quality of life and return to active living.

Jess enjoys providing comprehensive care (manual therapy, specific exercise, Pilates based exercise and Dry Needling training) to create an optimal clinical experience for her patients. She particularly focuses on teaching and educating patients to better understand their own bodies and conditions, in order to facilitate independent rehabilitation. Jess considers the hallmark of her patient care to be focused on understanding and treating the etiology of patient conditions, as opposed to simply treating the symptoms. Through this continued focus, Jess is highly motivated towards seeing positive patient outcomes with her satisfied patients.
